...I hear you, and I believe you.
I've read a lot of stories today from friends, mostly women and a few men, about your experiences with sexual harassment and assault. I know "I'm sorry" is useless. What I can say is that I believe you, I know that what happened is not your fault, and I'm doing everything I can to send our son into the world with the knowledge that he is not entitled to anyone else's body or attention.
Is that enough? I don't think so. I need to be better at speaking up and speaking out against catcalling, body-shaming, "locker room talk." Sure, I don't much like confrontation, but it's a safe bet women don't like spending

How to Start and Stay Writing
I recently solicited my watchers to ask me writing questions that I would then attempt to answer in a writing guide such as this. This article is my first response, and there will be many more to come.
I've been asked to give advice on ways a writer can begin to put words on a page. The bottom line is as simple as this: sit your butt down and write.
Duh, right? It's the only way I know to actually write.
Sure, sitting your butt in a chair is easy, but getting your fingers to move and stay moving is a challenge. Here are three things that have helped me.

One Chance
Elliot is four. He watches his grandfather breathe out cigarette smoke in his creaking armchair. The living room is small enough to be heated by the portable radiator near his grandfather's slippers. When the old man realises his grandson waits for him, he begins.
"This is a ruined world, son. Diseased with hatred and war before you were born." He takes a drag on his cigarette and Elliot breathes in the coming smoke. "This world is dead, but I know there's another. We could go to it if we only knew the way." Elliot's grandfather smiles at his thoughts. "There's another place put aside for us. I'll find the door one day."
